09-10 U 12 - Petite - Petite Team dominated Season Play!
Submitted By Todd Stanbury on Friday, March 12, 2010
The Goderich Petite team heads to Regionals entered into the Championship side of the tournament after a winning season.

The Petite season ended last Sunday with the last two scheduled games.  Both games were make up games from earlier in the season.  Seaforth and London visited the Maitland Recreation Center on Sunday March 7.
Seaforth opened the day and the home team continued with a solid outing, beating Seaforth 12-0.  The team was on fire with most teammates making the game sheet.  Courtney was not busy, but stayed focused and made the necessary saves when called upon.
The London squad visited during the afternoon for the final game of the season.  With the Goderich team undefeated, London came in ready to battle.  Any battle they did!  The game ended with our home team suffering their first and only loss of the season.  The score was 4-3 with London scoring with 6 minutes to go.  The team played excellent with this game possibly our best outing of the season.  Courtney had her busiest game of the season as well as the London goaltender keeping their team in the lead.  With Courtney pulled, we put a offensive push on but came out without a tieing goal.
I was more proud of the team during the final game of the season than at any other point during the year.  The team was happy with their effort and showed great sportsmanship after the game.  Great job!
Our team enters into Regionals with the best record.  The team will be called upon to give the best effort of the season.  The excitement is building and I can hardly wait.

We have worked all year to get to Regionals as a Championship Team.  The work is not done!  Go Goderich Petites!
