The U14 Tween team came from behind to tie a tough London team
Courtney stood tall and stopped many shots that came her way. Our defence didn't let the London team to close and the forwards kept pressing to salvage a tie.
Brianne opened the scoring in the first period at the 10:35 mark with an unassisted goal. London tied it up 1 minute later and then went ahead at the 6:14 mark, then again at 4:51. With the score 3-1 Erin ended her scoreless streak and potted one just 10 seconds after the London goal. Grace Tied the game at 3 with a shot in the top corner after a nifty pass from Samantha.
Starting the second period with 2 penalties the girls did a fantastic job to stiffle Londons power play, and create lots of scoring opportunities. It wasn't untill we were at full strength that London scored the go ahead goal and then followed it up at 13:03 to take a two goal lead. Not to be outdown our girls kept pressing.
London was caught on their heels and took a tripping penalty to give the girls a power play, and just 7 seconds was all it took for Erin to get her second goal of the game asisted by Kyra. Back and forth play continued for both teams until 1:37 when Brianne got her second goal of the game assisted by Kyra. It was nail biting to the end but the girls hung on and even got a couple of last minute scoring opportunities. Well Done girls!!!
