Fantastic saves, hard shots, and a goal with 1.4 seconds left to send it to overtime!
Courtney stepped up her game and made save after save, shutting down the seaforth offence. The defence protected Courtney blocking and stopping shot after shot, and Erin led the offensive charge.
Seaforth opened the scoring early and added another to take a quick 2 goal lead. Briannne took a pass from Grace and tucked the ring in the top corner to pull within 1 after the first period.
The second period started with Seaforth potting 2 goals, putting Goderich down by 3. The cylinders started fireing and Erin put us back within 2 at 4:42 of the frame, the goal was asssisted by Lauren. Jordyn showed some impressive skating keeping her feet moving and scored at 3:11 assisted by Madison.
With the clock winding down (slowly) and Courtney on the bench our offence showed how hard work pays off, and Brianne got her second of the game with just 1.4 seconds on the clock, assisted by Maddi and Lauren.
The game now going to overtime and the crowd on our side, it was our game to win.
The first overtime period decided nothing with both teams haveing great opportunities to score in this sudden death game. It wasn`t until 2:12 of the second overtime that Seaforth slipped one by the goderich goalie, deflating our sails. The coaching staff and I are very proud of how all the girls played and look forward to our next game, in Forest on Wednesday night.
